Deck Building · Montauk & the East End
Deck building for long summers and salt air
New decks, deck replacements, stairs, and railings in cedar, composite, or PVC, built on solid footings with hardware that stands up to the coast.
Overview
A deck is only as good as its structure
Decking boards get the attention, but footings, framing, the connection to your house, and fasteners decide how long a deck lasts and how safe it is. We build that structure carefully, flash the connection to the house, and use hardware rated for exterior and coastal exposure.
Then we finish the surface, stairs, and railings in the material you choose, with details planned around how you use the space: grilling, dining, an outdoor shower, or simply sitting in the sun.

Options
Choosing deck materials
01
Cedar
Natural, warm, and classic on the East End. Needs regular cleaning and sealing or stain to keep its color.
02
Composite
Low maintenance with the look of wood. No staining, though darker colors get warm in direct summer sun.
03
PVC
Highly moisture resistant with light color options. A good fit close to the water or around pools.
Local know-how
Built for life on the East End
Salt-air hardware
Coastal air corrodes ordinary fasteners. We use stainless or properly coated hardware suited to the exposure.
Sandy soil and footings
Footings need to reach stable soil below frost depth. We size and place them for the conditions on your lot.
Permits and setbacks
New decks generally need a town building permit and must respect setbacks. We check the requirements before the design is final.
